I am not condoning our behavior, for I am not innocent myself, but we had our own feelings concerning the matter and acted accordingly! Many people took home food without permission. Many of us gave out discounts to friends here and there. I had been always left up front by myself in the core day, after the manager would send everyone home and I could be with no cook or carver for a couple hours while she hid in the office. Free drinks! Sometimes I’d give free meals to my buddies, or charge them for something really cheap if someone walked up and that i needed to ring something up.

Eventually I quit and moved on but still knew many people working there. I still continued to express this place would get in trouble. In no time it happened! A manager at a different store around was fired for serving expired meat. My own manager was fired as well, although I never fully heard why! Then one day I heard about the class action lawsuit – someone had spoken up concerning the unfair treatment when it found breaks and the like. It was a blessing for the restaurant in a way. A lot of things have changed – Recption menus, the look, the workers. Now commercials on television and coupons in the newspaper.
